Someday Never Comes
 

First thing I remember was askin' papa, "Why?",
For there were many things I didn't know.기억을 더듬어보면 아빠에게 처음 물어본 말은 "Why?"
모르는게 너무 많았거든요

 

And Daddy always smiled; took me by the hand,
Sayin', "Someday you'll understand."
아빠는 살포시 웃으며 손을 내미시면서 하는 말은
"언젠간 알게 될거란다"

 

Well, I'm here to tell you now each and ev'ry mother's son
You better learn it fast; you better learn it young,
'Cause, "Someday" Never Comes."
이젠 모든 아들 딸들에게 말할 때가 왔어요
빨리 그리고 젊었을 때 아는 게 나아요

왜냐면 언젠가는 오지 않을테니까

 

Well, time and tears went by and I collected dust,
For there were many things I didn't know.

시간을 유수처럼 흘렀지만 먼지만 쌓였어요
왜냐하면 모르는게 너무 많기 때문이죠

 

When Daddy went away, he said, "Try to be a man,
And, Someday you'll understand."

아빠가 떠나면서 하는 말이 남자답게 되거라
그러면 언젠가 이해하게 될거란다.

And then, one day in April, I wasn't even there,
For there were many things I didn't know.

4월의 어느날 난 그곳에 있지 않았어요
왜냐하면 모르는게 너무 많기 때문이죠

 

A son was born to me; Mama held his hand,
Sayin' "Someday you'll understand."
내게도 아들이 생기고 엄만 아들의 손을 쥐고서 말하기를
언젠가 너도 이해하게 될거란다

Think it was September, the year I went away,
For there were many things I didn't know.생각해보면 내가 떠난 날은 9월이었어요
왜냐하면 모르는게 너무 많기 때문이죠

 

And I still see him standing, try'n' to be a man;
I said, "Someday you'll understand."그리고 난 아직도 진정한 남자가 되기 위해 서 있는 사람을 봐요
난 말해요 언젠가 이해하게 될거라고
